    Because I Saw My Dentist

The Georgia Dental Association released a new campaign this month called “Because I Saw My Dentist” and features information on how regular dental visits can improve your quality of life, prevent and diagnose diseases and even save your life. The campaign encourages others to find a ‘dental home’ where they know your dental and health history and you can visit every six months for an exam and dental hygiene cleaning.

The campaign profiles real Georgia residents stories of how finding a dental home and visiting the dentist regularly improved their lives dramatically. Their stories are featured on becauseisawmydentist.com. The site also enables people to search for a GDA dentist near them.

Demetria Rhynes of Macon, GA credits a routine dental checkup with helping her catch an early multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Working with her dentist and referred specialist, she was diagnosed and treated early, leading to better outcomes and has allowed her to lead a normal life.
